Sunshine... sunshine...we love the sunshine

Elly M. and i have been hanging out in the sun a lot... and for all of you out there that feel the need to ask... she is lathered completely in sunscreen and i do believe in hats.... so there you go... no sunburns for my baby. Anyways... it is so great to get our dose of vitamin d these days, we may of been lacking an awful lot living in dark land of sweden, but now we are back to bright and sunny iowa. Elly M. is going to be a water baby this summer i can tell already. She had a great time playing in the pool and the slip n' slide with her cousin elijah. i will try to post some pics. of him too, but he belongs in the nudist colony and i am not so sure they are blogging appropriate.

happy birthday miiles and sadie!!!

Miles turned 18 this week and Sadie turns 20 in a couple of weeks. I met miles when he was 11 and probably over 200 pounds smaller, time flies. Here we are at his and Sadie's birthday party. It is always a pleasure to hang out with the wegener family. They are always fun.... and okay more like family than friends.

We arrived in the U.S. of A. a week ago saturday and i realize that once again I have not done the best job at taking pics. but here are a few since we have been here. I have a few from my friend brooke's house too, but i will have to upload those later. Elly M.'s dad was watching her while she ate some dirt... just thought i would let you know that she didn't eat dirt on my time. well, not yet anyways.

Our airplane experience was happily uneventful, minus the stupid marble floors at the frankfurt airport. elly m. crashed her mouth into it and bled a little. I am not sure who was more upset, me or her.

We have been hanging out with my family and friends and it has been refreshing. It has also been pretty warm here, i have a little red skin today... oh, i missed that.

A little wore out!!!

We are hard at work trying to get everything done, but elly m. feels the stress too. She gets really wore out and just passes out sometimes even with a yogurt wrapper in her hand. We also try to have a little bit of fun while we are doing all this cleaning and junk. Here is a couple pics. of elly m. riding the mop with jonathan pulling her.

We love to put new things on elly m. and tell her how cute she is. This scarf was fun entertainment this morning!!! she doesn't seem to mind things on her head so much....that is probably good since she will probably be wearing hats in the hot sun all summer.

We spend the day galavanting around sweden yesterday with the schmit/janson clan. I am sad to say that the Peter, Helen Janson family whom we spent many weekends with have hardly made it onto the blog. I don't really understand why???? We spent many weekends with them and much time laughing, playing game, talking and having a good time. the peter janson family will be missed by the jonathan schmit family. they made our time in sweden easier for me to stand... much easier because of them. We can't wait to see them this summer in the land o' memphis.

12,500 Crane Birds in one place

Twelve Thousand Five Hundred Birds, but i mean who is counting???? They are!!! that's right, some here old people in Sweden have nothing better to do except attract tourists, including us, out to a lake to see tons of birds that come here every year to mate and count them. How they count them, who in the world knows, but they do. We enjoyed ourselves here, I should of done a count of people above the age of 65, it would of been close to 500 (exaggerating a little), but i think we were definitely the youngest people there!!!! No birds really danced for us though, that was kind of disappoint22ing. by the way elly m`. wis hel2ping em2211me 2to 1type as `you 2can` see222!!~!!!! so i guess that me`ans I a`m donq2Qe.

She isn't always happy!!!

I was looking through pictures the other day and realized, sometimes they are a little unrealistic. Elly M. is not always happy. so here is a picture of her being unhappy! Which doesn't happen all that often, but often enough that there should be at least one picture posted. She is getting lots of teeth, we are on the 8th one and i am not so sure we aren't working on 9 and 10, but somebody won't let me put my fingers in her mouth anymore... not sure why, but she doesn't like it.

It is always fun when jonathan has the day off work and today, Thursday is his last day. He will be half sad, half ecstatic i think. The prisoners have become some weird part of our daily conversation. But very interesting. He will have many stories to tell everyone when we return. He definitely hung out with a rougher crowd than i did while we were here.

In the pictures, Elly M. enjoys playing in her crib right now. She wants to get in there and sit with her toys and toss herself around. She also really likes being with Jonathan while he is playing the harmonica. This girl loves music...... she loves to sing, listen to instruments. It is hilarious.... when one of us starts to sing, she starts kind of making a noise along with us. She definitely takes after her daddy's family when it come to the musical side of things.
