Cozy

It is hilarious at our house sometimes...jonathan and elly m. have begun something new together.....get under a pillow or blanket and say cozy.... it was really funny when dan came over and elly m. wanted to cozy with him. it was cute. here is a video of jonathan and elly m. for you to enjoy...

$1 hat

might be the best purchase of the year. elly m. loves to wear it around the house. Elly m. turned 18 months yesterday. she weighs in at 24 lbs. and 34 inches long. she has lost weight since 12 months....but ruthie has almost caught up at 21 lbs. a little competition i guess. elly m. didn't even cry when she was poked 3 times....she must have her mother's pain tolerance.

French Breakfast.

and you might wonder to yourself... do french people eat french toast for breakfast??? and the answer is a big fat NO. Laurent or pronounced by jonathan "LOOOOW ant" with a scratchy sound in your throat in the middle somewhere... tells me that all children eat french baugettes smothered in butter and jam dipped in a bowl of hot cocoa almost every morning for breakfast... and as you become an adult... you just change what is in the bowl from cocoa to coffee. so i enjoyed a real french breakfast the second morning they were here. you have to love true cultural events. anyhow. my friend sharla and her french husband came to visit and it was a lot of fun!!! they taught jonathan and i how to play canasta,,,,such a fun game.

as you can see during the winter entertainment is slim. even when friends come into town from across the world. or maybe we all just followed an 18 month old's lead. diaper hats. who wouldn't want a clean diaper for a hat. but they were good sports and put the diapers on their head.

could we really call this snow???

I guess growing up in a place where snow was abundant... i almost felt embarrassed to bundle elly m. up in such a hideous outfit that i feel she will hate me for in less than 5 years mind you... to go outside to the 1 cm. of snow. it is crazy. they let hte kids out of school here this day. never and i mean never would this happen in the northern lands....anyhow... elly m. thinks that snow is for eating. i am not sure who taught her that. okay it was me. but it was hard to enjoy when laced in the snow is leaves. she would come to me after taking a bite with a leaf and say" this is nasty!!" and then i would laugh because i am almost sure i am the one that says things are nasty. like poopy pants.

Elly M. takes this literally. If she hears a cell phone ring.. she's dancin', if you start to sing just randomly (which happens very often at our house), she is dancin'..... so watch this girl get down with her bad self.

maybe winter isn't so bad!!!!

Here we are enjoying the $2.50 potato head we bought today. it was well worth it because of these.

so boring......

Winter is soooooo boring.... we are slowly, but surely running out of things to do. I do appreciate the almost 60 degree day we had yesterday. we went on a long walk and just enjoyed the sunshine.
