an apology...

I want to apologize for my lack of blogging lately. I have been kind of sick of winter and just overall tired of being in the house. I WILL do better now. i have been too busy watching a t.v. show during nap time to upload videos and pictures... forgive me. i am back now.

We went to iowa...

Here are some pics. from iowa. the girls and i took a trek up north the cold. it was so great to see my family and hang out for the week. a bonus was elijah, my sister's son turned five. it was fun to watch he and elly m. fight and play together. the picture of the cute lady and the baby is my sister-in-law jessi and my nephew owen. owen is sooooo cute.. when he gets super excited... he puts his fists up in the air and shakes them. usually the excitement is over food.

OH winter go away...

Bella came over today and i just vented about how much winter can make you not like things that you should.... like spending quality time with your children. ruthie is all over the place now and choking on leaves all the time and elly m. has to get to the bottom of everthing... literally everything.

Little Ruthie...

not so little ruthie... she weighs about the same as elly m., so she isn't the smallest, but she is our smallest. She had yet another ear infection last week, had an allergic reaction, and then got on the right medicine and of course has had gas and loose stools since. we just can't win here at our house. i haven't taken many pictures lately, i will try to do better this week.

going back to babyhood....

Here is elly märta wanting to be a baby again, crawling back into the little toy baby bassinet. she is so funny!! as you can see she doesn't really fit.

I think ruthie is about to start walking... she wants to be just like her big sister...she stands up and goes back and forth, back and forth, back and forth from the play table to me, from me to the table. she is changing too fast. Elly Märta loves to crawl into things...boxes, laundry baskets, even baby beds!! so funny. and then she will look at ruthie and she will say "come!"

J. is 28.. finally caught up. here we are celebrating him in the morning time. It is always fun on jonathan's birthday to get up at the o'crack clock to make him his pancake cake... this year it was even better with ruthie and elly m. they both found it very interesting singing and dancing about daddy. even the cat tried to eat the cake.. silly cat. maybe i will even post more pics. from the family party later.... happy birthday jonathan.. you are the bestest friend in the whole world.

beginning of snow pics.

As you can see, you have to take as many pics. as you can when it snows here just so that your children believe you when you tell them when they are older and it doesn't snow one year. so this year... the best snow in march...and we are having a good time... dancing, playing... lalalala... and then someone drops my camera in the snow.. and i get sad and upset... and maybe say the word moron.. i don't remember..but anyways. i said i was sorry and j. said he was sorry and my camera is fine. the lens gets stuck every once in awhile now, but it is all better.

Snow in Memphis...

As you can see... it snowed in Memphis...and it snowed quite a bit for Memphis. 3 inches. wow.... well when it started to snow we went outside for a few minutes....because elly m. got pretty cold pretty fast. but while we were out there.... ruthie was at the door crying. she woke up with a pretty bad cold yesterday, so i wasn't going to take her out in it, but since i haven't taken her picture in snow i decided today was the day...well prepared as you can see.. all bundled up and everything.

New friends...

As you can see by looking at her outfit that she is not from a place where it snows a whole lot... hence the flip flop shoes. but she is so very very precious.... her name is liz and she is a new found friend. her husband is mitch. he is the guy in the red coat and then their doggy Diesel. Mitch is working with jonathan now, that should be an every day adventure for the two of them. anyways... they came from california and are staying for awhile... they are fun and have already added a lot to the schmit life. maybe in the future.. they will even add a puppy. they have one big boy dog and two little girl puppies... they are so cute!!!
